Stefano Brunello was born on 8 January 1967 in Italy.

Since he was very young, he was fascinated by his father’s work, a skilled wood furniture restorer. He taught him the technique of fretwork, wood-carving and inlay, together with brushstrokes creation in geometric plans.

Brunello started to build wooden frames, which were later covered by canvases. They both hide and unveil the underlying work, in order to rarefy the whole structure and let the play of light bring it out. The wooden structure, being either geometric or perspective, is thus veiled by the canvas. In addition, according to the artist’s project, the depth of the carving realized by Brunello defines which power generated by light will bring out the underlying structure.

His first art exhibition dates back to 1999 at the art gallery “Ars et Labor” in Forlì and Asiago, and the collaboration lasted until 2005. In the same year, another exhibition was held at the art gallery “FB Arte Ostellato” in Ferrara, and several art shows took place in Italy, including Forlì, Parma, Pordenone and Reggio Emilia. In 2006 an art exhibition was staged at the art gallery “Agostino Tortora” in Ferrara, and the following year Brunello began a collaboration with the art gallery “L’Idea” in Santa Maria Maddalena.

In 2011, his growing success allowed him to became a member of the Rigorismo group at the art gallery “Lattuada” in Milan, and he also attended several art shows, including Mi Art, Step, Affordable Art Fair, Art Verona and Rigorismo exhibition at the art gallery “San Carlo” in Milan. Following this wave, he took part in various art exhibitions over the years.

He currently lives and works in Ferrara (Italy).
