Scemtovici & Benowitz Gallery will be taking part in this year's International Contemporary Art Fair, MoBU, a significant event dedicated to Romania's contemporary art market.
Now in its second edition, MoBU will be held at Romexpo in the Central Pavilion from the 29th of May to the 2nd of June, 2024.
Scemtovici & Benowitz Gallery will be located at booth B04 on the ground floor, showcasing thematic selections from the works of artists: Olimpiu Bandalac, Dan Basu, Emanuel Borcescu, Adrian Ghiman, Ioan Iacob, Ada Muntean, Andrea Nagy, and Diana Serghiuță.
During the fair, Scemtovici & Benowitz Gallery will launch the #InSideART conference and artist talk program. Through this initiative, the gallery aims to highlight, discuss, and debate current topics in visual arts such as artificial intelligence, the art market, international art fairs, biennials, and the artist-curator relationship.
Speakers will include: Ruxandra Demetrescu, Horea Avram, Raluca Ilaria Demetrescu, Ioana Marinescu, Mădălina Mirea, Nona Rapotan, Alin Comșa, Dan Basu, Andrea Nagy, Ioan Iacob, Emanuel Borcescu, and Olimpiu Bandalac.

About Scemtovici & Benowitz Gallery
Scemtovici & Benowitz is a Bucharest-based gallery inaugurated in December 2022 by the Scemtovici family. The gallery has a comprehensive and ambitious artistic program developed in collaboration with the Art Movements Foundation. Since the beginning of this year, cultural manager Raluca Băloiu has joined the gallery team.
The gallery's mission is to support and promote professional artists working in fields such as painting, sculpture, and unconventional media, including both local and diaspora artists.
The gallery places special emphasis on contemporary drawing, hosting a recurring event dedicated to this art form. The first edition of "Contemporary Drawing in Romania" took place last year, in 2023.
Scemtovici & Benowitz Gallery spans two levels of a house built in the 1920s, which has been restored and adapted for contemporary art and aimed at the general public, the creative sector, and the entrepreneurial community.
