He was born on 16.12.1936, in Cernauti, Bucovina. He graduated from the "Nicolae Grigorescu" Fine Arts Institute, Painting section, Bucharest. Founder of the 111 group/with Stefan Bertalan and Roman Cotoșman, 1966; of the Sigma group/ with Ștefan Bertalan, 1969; of the Prolog group/ with Paul Gherasim, Horea Paștina, Christian Paraschiv and Mihai Sârbulescu, 1985.

He participated in Prolog exhibitions from 1985 until 2022, in Bucharest, Bologna, Venice, Limassol, Budapest.
